For 11-11-2018 posting: PRAYER IS IN OUR NATIONS CAPITOL

Stained Glass window to the Congressional Prayer Room shows George Washington KNEELING in prayer with the words “PRESERVE ME O GOD, FOR IN THEE DO I PUT MY TRUST” PSALM 16:1
On top are the words “THIS NATION UNDER GOD” by Abraham Lincoln in the Gettysburg address.

Inside the Chapel: 2 kneelers, 6 chairs and more.

June 28, 1787, Benjamin Franklin’s speech to the Constitutional Convention.

First Prayer of the Continental Congress.

Everyone in the House Chamber can easily see the words high above:
IN GOD WE TRUST.

Around the top of the walls inside the House Chamber are images of twenty-three (23) of the world’s greatest lawgivers. Each image shows a side profile of the individual – except the image at the back of the Chamber looking directly down on the proceedings of the House. That image is of MOSES – the lawgiver of the BIBLE – and he is the only lawgiver in the House Chamber honored with a full face view. Directly facing the image of Moses is the elevated speaker’s rostrum with a declaration in large, prominent gold letters: “IN GOD WE TRUST”. This same inscription can be found over the south door of the Senate Chamber.

Now I say to you: This should be enough evidence to support what the Supreme Court has correctly declared years ago, “We are a religious people whose institutions presuppose  a Supreme Being.” Nowhere is America’s great religious faith more evident than in our Capitol Building.

Congress; It is your duty to uphold our Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of the United States of America (Hint: Prayer and Bible back in our institutions).

In the Navy Museum, here a two important names;
JOHN F. KENNEDY AND ROGER STAUBACH.
